Training and experience

Dr Tom Burton, MBChB, FRACS, completed his medical and specialist surgical training in New Zealand. After gaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery, he undertook post-fellowship training in colorectal, bariatric and endocrine surgery at Waikato Hospital.

He subsequently worked as a Consultant General Surgeon across public and private practice before relocating to the Sunshine Coast. His practice encompasses colorectal surgery, proctology, general and laparoscopic surgery, colonoscopy and gastroscopy.

Dr Burton values clear explanations, careful assessment and treatment plans tailored to each patient.
